In total, there are 20,465 units of the BMW i8 hybrid sportscar on the market.

Deliveries to retail customers in the USA began in August 2014. The convertible roadster variant was first avaiable as a 2019 model and launched in May 2018. Production of all BMW i8’s ended in June 2020.

BMW expected the U.S. to be the largest sales market. In Europe, the UK, Germany and France were expected to be the top markets.

There were a total of 6,968 sales of the BMW i8 recorded in the USA.

Deliveries to retail customers in the USA began in August 2014. The production version of the BMW i8 Roadster was first unveiled in late 2017. Delivery of the first 18 exclusive first edition units took place in May 2018. Production of all BMW i8’s ended on June 11, 2020.

There were a total of 8,318 sales of the BMW i8 recorded in Europe through 2013-2019.

The BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition remains the most exclusive edition with around 100 units worldwide.

By March 2020, global sales of all variants had reached more than 20,000 units, making the BMW i8 the world’s top-selling plug-in electric sports car, and exceeding sales of all competitors in its segment combined.

The 20,000th i8 was produced in December 2019 and was one of the limited Ultimate Sophisto Edition models.

The final eighteen (18) BMW i8 models were done in a particular paint that had not been used before and were essentially hand painted. You can view this last batch here.
